Giovanni Izzo ( Bologna , 1 January 1998 ) is an Italian swimmer , specialized in the short distances of freestyle, dolphin and backstroke. Raised in President Bologna and subsequently moved to Imolanuoto, he achieved excellent results at youth level together with his coach Chiara Galeno. At the 2015 Baku European Games he won the silver medal in the 50 m freestyle. While in the following 2023 edition in Chengdu he won the gold medal in the 50 meters freestyle.

With his phenomenal achievement as the gold medalist in the Men‘s 50m freestyle at the FISU 2023, Izzo has undeniably showcased his extraordinary abilities and unwavering dedication.
